USDA Rural Development is Hiring Paid Career Track Interns

Name
Joseph Brooks
City
Amherst
Release Date

The United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development in Southern New England is hiring paid part time interns in our Amherst MA office to help transform rural America. The positions are intended to be non-competitively transferred into federal service upon graduation.

USDA Rural Development administers more than 40 loan and grant programs. Candidates will learn how to originate mortgages, help municipalities access grants and loans, and help rural businesses access capital. We’re seeking students (at least half-time) enrolled in a degree or certificate program interested in working about 20 hours a week. Ideal candidates would be interested in spending school breaks with us – increasing their schedules up to 40 hours when possible.

We’re particularly interested in students studying business or accounting, but if you are interested in grant and loan making, this might be the right fit no matter what your current studies are. Non-traditional students, veterans, and those seeking new careers are also encouraged to apply.
