USDA Rural Development will host four workshops at various locations around Washington State to provide an overview of the Value Added Producer Grant (VAPG) Program.
Value added products are created when a producer increases the consumer value of an agricultural commodity in the production or processing stage. The grant provides funding for feasibility studies or business plans, working capital or marketing value.
The Value Added Producer Grant Program provides opportunities to beginning and socially disadvantaged farmers, as well as assists independent producers, farmer and rancher cooperatives, agricultural producer groups, and will support local and regional supply networks. Discussions will include eligibility, application process, application scoring, and in-depth application assistance for those intending to apply.
