Julie Gross, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development South Dakota State Director, joined the city of Hot Springs staff, along with community members, congressional staff and others on Tuesday, December 12th in a ribbon cutting ceremony highlighting funding that will boost economic growth.

“This project will allow community members to navigate easily into the Boulder Falls Subdivision development,” said Gross.  “The infrastructure improvements support Hot Springs’ efforts in housing, economic, and neighborhood development.”

USDA provided a loan of $200,000 in Fiscal Year 2017 from its Community Facility Direct loan program that was leveraged with previous funding of $1,700,00 for total project funding of $1,900,000.

The Boulder Falls subdivision provides 129 lots available for development.  In addition, curb and gutter, guard rails and retaining walls were built, along with improved drainage to extend the life of the road.
