RICHMOND, Va., June 20, 2024 – U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Virginia State Director Perry Hickman today announced the top five partner lenders in the commonwealth as part of the state’s celebration of National Homeownership Month.
Alcova Mortgage, Atlantic Bay Mortgage, Movement Mortgage, Integrity Home Mortgage, and Atlantic Union Bank all went the extra mile to help rural families and individuals buy homes last year through USDA Rural Development’s Single Family Housing Guaranteed Loan Program.
“These purchases represent financial security, the opportunity to build wealth and equity and a foundation for a better future for the homeowners, their children and future generations,” said Hickman. “I want to thank our partner lenders and recognize their dedication to ensuring that potential buyers are equipped with the information and resources necessary to take that all-important next step towards a brighter future.”
National Homeownership Month
USDA is proud to partner with all lenders who work with the agency to support rural homeownership. Since January 2021, the Biden-Harris Administration has invested more than $43 billion to help nearly 266,000 families and individuals buy, repair and build homes through Rural Development’s Single-Family Housing programs.
USDA is also highlighting the ways homeownership programs have historically given people in rural America the opportunity to build wealth and equity, and a foundation for a brighter future for themselves and their families. Since 1949, USDA’s Single Family Housing Programs have helped nearly 5 million families and individuals achieve the dream of homeownership and USDA's Single Family Direct Home Loans have helped approximately 2.2 million families and individuals purchase homes since the program’s inception.
The Virginia lender rankings were included in a list of top producers released for the 2024 National Lender of the Year Awards. (View the full list from last week’s ceremony.)
