USDA Rural Development State Director for Colorado Sallie Clark joined representatives from Colorado City Metropolitan District (CCMD) to award a $15.918,000 loan and grant combination to the district to develop a pre-treatment facility for lake water treatment.
“This investment reflects what can be achieved when partners come together with a shared commitment to ensuring safe, reliable water service for current and future generations. The pretreatment facility will help ensure that water drawn from the lake can be treated effectively and delivered to residents and businesses,” said Clark.
The project is funded through the Water & Waste Disposal Program and provides funding for clean and reliable drinking water systems, sanitary sewage disposal, sanitary solid waste disposal, and storm water drainage to households and businesses in eligible rural areas. This program helps very small, financially distressed rural communities extend and improve water and waste treatment facilities that serve local households and businesses.
