United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Deputy Under Secretary for Rural Development Justin Maxson today announced that USDA will begin accepting applications on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, to expand the production of advanced biofuels.
USDA will make $7 million available under the Advanced Biofuel Payment Program. Through this program, producers will receive payments to help offset costs associated with the production of advanced biofuels. Examples of advanced biofuels include biodiesel, ethanol (other than corn kernel), electricity and biogas produced from anaerobic digesters, and solid fuels.
The enrollment period for producers to sign up to participate for Fiscal Year 2022 is Oct. 1 to Oct. 31, 2021. Producers who participated in the program in Fiscal Year 2021 and new producers must enroll to receive payments.
