USDA to Host Tribal Listening Session to Solicit Feedback on Improving
Rural Development’s Environmental Review Process
WASHINGTON, June 22, 2021 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced it is hosting a listening session on June 29, 2021, to solicit feedback from tribal applicants on ways to improve USDA Rural Development’s (RD) environmental review process.
USDA is encouraging the feedback from Federally recognized Tribes and tribal organizations that apply for, or have received, funding from one or more RD programs.
The Department is inviting feedback on environmental review policies and procedures in 7 CFR Part 1970. USDA recognizes the unique circumstances that govern the environmental review process for projects on tribal lands. During this session, Tribes and tribal organizations will have the opportunity to provide integral feedback on their experiences.
