USDA is seeking applications for loans and grants to improve community facilities such as schools, health care facilities, libraries and first responder services and equipment in rural New York.

“Here at Rural Development, our main priority is to ensure that rural New Yorkers have the opportunities and support they need to build a vibrant community,” said Scott Collins, USDA Rural Development New York Acting State Director. “The investment in community facilities is the platform for job creation and business expansion in some of New York’s most promising communities.”

Funding is available through Rural Development’s Community Facilities program, which helps finance essential community facilities for public use in rural areas and towns of up to 20,000 in population. These facilities include childcare centers, hospitals, medical clinics, assisted living facilities, fire and rescue stations, police stations, community centers, public buildings and transportation. Through this program, USDA ensures that such facilities are available to all rural residents. These funds are available to public bodies, non-profit organizations and tribal governments.

During the past five years, USDA Rural Development has invested more than $82 Million in rural New York through the Community Facilities program. For more information on this program and how to apply, please contact our office at (315) 477-6400.
