USDA Rural Development has awarded $84,000 to the Village of Prosser for a water treatment project.
“We are grateful to the funds that USDA Rural Development has provided us for the treatment of our water. Being the small community that Prosser is we could not have afforded to take on this project,” said Chairperson Janine Ruhter, Village of Prosser.
“USDA funds will be used to install new Point of Use treatment equipment at each user location for the treatment of water that has high nitrate levels,” said Community Programs Specialist Bert Mues, USDA Rural Development.
USDA Rural Development funding is being provided through the Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant program. For more information visit www.rd.usda.gov/ne or contact Community Programs Specialist Bert Mues at 308-237-3118 ext.128 or bert.mues@ne.usda.gov.
President Obama’s plan for rural America has brought about historic investment and resulted in stronger rural communities. Under the President’s leadership, these investments in housing, community facilities, businesses and infrastructure have empowered rural America to continue leading the way – strengthening America’s economy, small towns and rural communities. USDA’s investments in rural communities support the rural way of life that stands as the backbone of our American values.
