We are looking for an environmental protection specialist to serve as our State Environmental Coordinator and help us advance this mission.
The purpose of this position is to provide oversight and direction in the implementation of RD’s environmental review responsibilities at the state level and ensure compliance with laws protecting natural, environmental, and cultural resources.
This position provides oversight and support in ensuring RD complies with laws protecting natural, environmental, and cultural r
esources, as well as effective integration of environmental considerations in applicant proposals as required by various federal and state statutes and regulations, and RD environmental policies and procedures, including the National Environmental Policy Act, National Historic Preservation Act, Endangered Species Act, and the Clean Water Act.
Work is performed in coordination with state and local office staff, regulatory agencies, and applicants, with assistance, training, and guidance from National Office staff. More details are available in the USAJobs announcement.
