ALEXANDRIA La, Feb. 13 – Bayou Community Academy (BCA), a non-profit organization founded by dedicated local parents, has unveiled its new $20 million facility aimed at enhancing student learning and promoting a lifelong love for knowledge. This milestone was made possible with the crucial support of Louisiana USDA Rural Development’s Community Facilities Guaranteed Loan Program, which provided $11,388,198 in Direct Loan and $2,700,000 in Guaranteed funding for the project.

“The partnership between Bayou Community Academy and Louisiana Rural Development represents a commitment to providing quality education and opportunities for growth,” stated Deidre Deculus Robert, Louisiana State Director. “The investment in BCA's new facility not only enhances student learning but also demonstrates our shared goal of empowering communities through education. By utilizing the Community Facilities Guaranteed Loan Program, BCA was able to leverage what they had to accomplish this shared goal.”

BCA's mission is to provide equal access to high-quality education, embrace innovative teaching methods, and empower educators to support the growth and development of each student. The school's philosophy focuses on preparing students to become agents of change in a rapidly evolving world by combining the best of today with the best of the past.

Previously operating in leased facilities with limited space and capacity, BCA's new 70,000 square foot facility in Thibodaux covers 10 acres and provides a secure, well-structured, and supportive educational setting for eligible students in Lafourche Parish from Pre-K to 8th grade. The new campus includes 22 classrooms, a library, science lab, art lab, music room, administrative space, cafeteria, and gymnasium.

The completion of this project has not only improved the safety and security of the student body but has also created job opportunities within the local community. The new facility facilitates BCA's emphasis on college readiness and carefully structured instructional approaches, ensuring that students are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed for success in higher education and beyond.

BCA's dedication to enhancing the educational experience for students, educators, and the community at large is evident in the thoughtful design and construction of their new facility. The school looks forward to continuing its mission of fostering independent thinking, creativity, and ethical values in all students.
