When Scott and Melissa Holt moved to Hot Springs, their plan was to retire. They started as a small farmer’s market selling meat, farm produce and homemade ice cream. Soon they saw the demand for their specialty ice cream grow – even in the dead of winter.

People would come to the farm for various business and ask, ‘do you have any ice cream?’ Following a fire that destroyed the local ice cream shop, the Holt’s decided to open a shop in Hot Springs to offer a selection of cold treats. Two Cows Creamery and Bistro was open for business.

The Ohio State University (OSU) College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) Center for Cooperatives, based at the OSU South Centers in Piketon, Ohio, helps enhance quality of life by integrating teaching, research, and extension to support cooperatives with technical assistance and education programs.

The coffee’s on in a refurbished house in rural Radisson, where the dream of homeownership is being experienced for the first time ever with the help of a USDA Single Family Housing direct loan.

After much dedication, a new homeowner who worked throughout most of her adult life as a mover, lifting and hauling other people’s furniture, was recently able to move into her own home for the first time.

Thanks to the perseverance of community leaders and property owners, the Board of Clermont County (OH) Commissioners opened a new wastewater treatment facility in the former Village of Newtonsville, which is now part of Wayne Township.   

Meet Vicki Beckendorf, a longtime resident of Odin, Minnesota. In 1998, she and her husband fell in love with their charming farmhouse, built in 1912. Over the years, however, the house began to show its age, revealing a growing list of repairs and updates that needed attention.
