(Ada, Ohio, October 8, 2026) — The U.S. Department of Agriculture Under Secretary for Rural Development Glen R. Smith today announced a $56 million Community Facilities Direct Loan Program to Ohio Northern University. The funds will finance a new 60,000 square-foot health and wellness center and the renovation of an 18,000 square-foot classroom and lab facility for exercise physiology and health sciences. These community facilities will serve students and local community members, expanding access to essential health and wellness services in rural Ohio.

(Morgantown, WV., October 7, 2026) — The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development recently announced nearly $25 billion in rural community investments nationwide in fiscal year 2026. These projects strengthen essential infrastructure, expand housing and business opportunities, and ensure rural families and farmers have the tools they need to succeed. 

U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Michigan State Director Dom Restuccia today announced a $4,351,000 loan to improve water infrastructure for the Village of Chesaning in Saginaw County. 

“A key piece of this project is to remove the lead components from Chesaning’s water system, and this is just one example of many where have been able to do that,” said Restuccia. “Under the leadership of President Donald Trump and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, we are getting the lead out of rural water systems.”

(Hollister, N.C., Oct. 6, 2026) — Members of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development North Carolina team participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony with AccessOn Internet today.

AccessOn Internet utilized a $17 million USDA ReConnect Program Grant to connect approximately 2,100 households, 100 businesses, 76 farms, and 22 educational facilities to fast, reliable and affordable internet in Halifax and Warren counties and the Haliwa-Saponi Tribal Statistical Area.
