(Coachella, Calif., July 22, 2026) -U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development California State Director Bryan Anguiano visited the Coachella Valley this week to meet with leaders from the Coachella Valley Housing Coalition and discuss ongoing collaborations that expand homeownership opportunities for families across the region. The visit underscores USDA Rural Development’s commitment to supporting local partners who help Californians achieve the American dream of owning a home.

U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Michigan State Director Dom Restuccia today announced a $765,000 grant to purchase a fire truck for the City of Rockwood in southern Wayne County.  

This spring, USDA Rural Development Minnesota Loan Specialist Carol Wimmer reviewed a home repair grant request from Virginia Bailey, an elderly Minnesota homeowner facing a serious health and safety crisis. After a period of extreme cold, Virginia’s water pipes had frozen and burst beneath her home, leaving her with no running water in the bathroom and forcing her to manually turn the water on and off just to wash dishes. Without immediate repairs, she risked living in unsafe and unsanitary conditions.

Rural Development invested $2.3 million with Farm Chemicals Inc. through the USDA Fertilizer Production Expansion Program grant to build two 500,000 gallon storage tanks. This expansion will double the amount of fertilizer and nutrient alternatives, produced by Farm Chemicals Inc. to North Carolina farmers.

(Stevens Point, Wis., July 20, 2026) – The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development is investing nearly $8 million to make necessary sewer system upgrades and water main replacements for the Village of Cedar Grove.

The projects will benefit more than 2,100 rural Wisconsinites.
