Rural Development’s $2.7 million investment will assist local community action agency rehab headquarters building
HENDERSON, NC, Aug. 5, 2025 — State Director Robert Hosford and members of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development team participated in a groundbreaking ceremony with Franklin Vance Warren Opportunity Inc. in Henderson today.
Rural Development is investing $2.7 million through a USDA Community Facilities Loan to assist in FVWOI’s renovation of their front entrance, update the HVAC and IT systems, replace the floors, and renovate the bathrooms.
“The work Franklin, Vance, Warren Opportunity Inc. programs positively impacts families across five counites,” said Hosford. “Our investment will help their staff and the people they serve have up-to-date accommodations as they do their work to assist their local community.”
According to their website, FVWOI is a community action agency that has served the residents of Franklin, Granville, Warren, and Nash Counties for over 50 years. The agency administers social service programs in partnership with the Federal Government, charitable funders, and state and local municipalities.
USDA Community Facilities loans provide affordable funding to develop essential amenities in rural areas.
