On March 8, 2023, USDA Rural Development issued a 90-day public notice informing the public that USDA was conducting a periodic review of all areas under its jurisdiction to identify areas that no longer qualify as rural for housing programs.

WASHINGTON, July 18, 2023 – U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Mississippi State Director Dr. Trina N. George today announced that the Department is launching a pilot program to make it easier for people to access loans and grants to repair homes damaged by severe storms and future natural disasters.

Bozeman, Mont., July 18, 2023 – U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development in Montana State Director Kathleen Williams announced today the launch of a pilot program that will expand access to loans and grants for low income Montana homeowners so they can repair homes damaged by flooding in calendar year 2022 and take steps to mitigate future natural disasters.
