Southern New England: Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island

Welcome! USDA Rural Development Southern New England supports prosperity in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island by investing in modern infrastructure such as high-speed internet and water and waste treatment systems. We help rural Southern New Englanders secure safe affordable housing, and we can partner with you to build or improve essential community facilities such as public safety complexes, hospitals, libraries, and schools. We boost rural economic development by funding technical assistance for small business owners and entrepreneurs, helping them design robust business plans, find new markets, and promote their goods and services or expand and improve their facilities.  We also support energy programs that improve energy efficiency and finance renewable energy systems for rural businesses. Because so many of our employees live and work in the very communities we serve, the USDA Rural Development mission is personal to us. It’s this commitment to our neighbors and our commitment to preserving our community characteristics that makes USDA Rural Development so unique.
