The Borough of Paulsboro is an industrial town located along the Delaware River in Gloucester County. With a population of 6,097 and limited resources, the Borough decided to replace their existing 80+ year old water storage tank based on the high cost of the necessary repairs.
USDA Rural Development provided funding totaling $558,800 through our Water and Environmental Program to assist with the construction of a new and larger water storage tank. Additional leveraged funds were also provided by the U.S. Economic Development Administration.
This new 500,000 gallon elevated storage tank will help ensure the Borough has a reliable water supply and can also help support redevelopment and economic growth to the Borough.
USDA Rural Development invests in jobs, infrastructure, homeownership and affordable rental housing in rural communities. Last year the agency assisted tens of thousands of New Jersey families and businesses, investing more than $317 million through affordable loans, loan guarantees and grants.
