Sheyenne Dakota Inc.

Sheyenne Dakota, Inc., founded in 1996 and based in West Fargo, North Dakota, is a wire and cable harness manufacturer of electrical
harnesses for every industry: construction, agricultural, trucking, electric, research, and recreational.

In 2013, the company was interested in expanding to a smaller community. Through their exploration, they found the community of De Smet, South

Dakota. The community had a 10,000-square-foot spec building available in their industrial park and an engaged workforce.

In the spring of 2013, the De Smet manufacturing facility opened utilizing the spec building built in 2009 as a project of the De Smet
Development Corporation. De Smet Development Corporation constructed the spec building with USDA Rural Development’s Rural Business Enterprise Grant funds.

East River Electric’s Rural Electric Economic Development Fund (REED) lent De Smet Development Corporation USDA Rural Development’s Intermediary Relending Program funds awarded to upgrade the spec building and accommodate the move to De Smet. Sheyenne Dakota, Inc. eventually purchased the renovated facility from De Smet Development Corporation.

Sheyenne Dakota, Inc. has 24 employees working in this state-of-the-art manufacturing plant.
