USDA Investment Will Expand Agricultural Fertilizer Access for Illinois Farmers 

(Champaign, Ill., February 26, 2026) – U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Illinois State Director Jesus Ortega today announced that the agency is providing a $1 million loan to the Wayne-White Counties Electric Cooperative. The loan will relend funds to Beaver Creek Ag LLC. The company, which sells agricultural chemicals and fertilizer to the farming community, will use the funding to expand its operation.

USDA Invests in Tirrito Farm Winery Development

(Phoenix, Feb. 25, 2026) – U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Arizona State Director Lori Urban today announced the agency is investing $68,940 to support the development of a winery in Wilcox, Arizona. 

“USDA is honored to partner with Tirrito Farm LLC through our Value-Added Producer Grant,” said Urban. “This grant will support their vineyard and enable the expansion of their business. At USDA, we recognize that small business owners are vital to the prosperity of our economy.” 

USDA Announces Home Repair Investments in North Dakota

BISMARCK, N.D. Feb. 24, 2026 – U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development State Director Tom Campbell today announced home repair investments in North Dakota. These investments will benefit housing in 4 counties across the state.

“Housing is always a challenge in rural communities, but so is keeping the properties safe and habitable,” said Campbell. “These organizations have been partners with RD for years and are looking to continue the work they do through the Housing Preservation Grant Program.”

USDA Rural Development invests $19 million to improve the electrical grid in rural Iowa

Investment will strengthen power reliability for homes, farms and businesses across 17 Iowa counties

(Des Moines, Iowa, February 24, 2026) – U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development’s Iowa State Director Michael Sexton today announced that the agency is awarding a total of $19 million for two projects to improve electric infrastructure in Iowa. 

Camber Solar Project

Project Description: Construct a a 3.75 MW AC community solar system in Carterville Township spanning approximately 16 acres across land previously agricultural land-use.
