Stan Summers
State Director of Utah
Stan Summers brings over a decade of proven leadership in economic development and public service to his new role as the USDA Rural Development State Director for Utah. In his twelve years as a Box Elder County Commissioner, Stan was instrumental in driving significant economic growth, helping reduce unemployment in his county and overseeing sustainable development. He led county departments and held influential statewide leadership positions, including Chair of the Utah State Association of County Commissions and Councils and President of the Utah Association of Counties. He’s also served on various boards including the IHC corporate board, Boys and Girls Club of Northern UT, and the Constitutional Defense Council Utah Board.
Prior to his public service career, Stan successfully owned and operated multiple businesses, underscoring his commitment to community and economic development. His extensive experience in strategic planning, policy guidance, and collaborative leadership positions him to effectively support Utah’s agricultural communities and rural development initiatives in his USDA role.
