Zachary Swartz
State Director
Zachary Swartz was appointed USDA Rural Development State Director for Oklahoma by President Donald Trump in August 2025. Director Swartz is charged with implementing President Trump’s America First Agenda within Oklahoma by supporting the rural communities Oklahoma’s farmers and ranchers depend upon.
A native of Sulphur, Okla., Director Swartz is familiar with the unique challenges rural Oklahomans face to keep their communities a thriving home for those who support America’s agricultural infrastructure. After graduating from Sulphur High School, Swartz attended the University of Central Oklahoma where he obtained his bachelor’s degree and started a career dedicated to serving Oklahoma.
Prior to his appointment at USDA, he worked in the energy infrastructure field supporting the growth of American energy independence. He has also worked at the Oklahoma Department of Commerce and as an Associate Director for Public Policy at Oklahoma Farm Bureau.
