Champaign, IL, Jan. 12, 2024 – U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development announced previous Illinois State Director Betsy Dirksen Londrigan has accepted a new position as Rural Business Cooperative-Service (RBCS) Administrator. State Deputy Molly Hammond is stepping in as Acting State Director for Illinois. USDA’s Rural Business Cooperative Service offers services such as job training for rural areas, aid for small businesses and ag producers, and bringing broadband to rural communities.
“It has been a pleasure serving Illinois’ rural communities and I look forward to continue serving America’s rural businesses and communities moving forward in this exciting new role”, says RBCS Administrator Betsy Dirksen Londrigan. “I know Illinois is in great hands with Molly Hammond stepping in as Acting State Director. She’s been with USDA Rural Development for over 16 years and I’m confident she’s going to do a fabulous job.
Acting State Director Molly Hammond has served as State Deputy for the past year, and in HR Management for several years prior to that. She has been with USDA Rural Development for over 16 years and looks forward to continuing leading the Illinois Rural Development team.
