On behalf of the Rural Development staff and myself, I want to wish you the very best this Thanksgiving holiday.
This is a day where all of us reflect on the many things we are thankful for.
I’ve been state director at Rural Development for over a year, and I’ve seen firsthand how we help make dreams come true for individuals and communities throughout rural New Mexico, making everyday Thanksgiving Day.
In the last year, I’ve met people that are so grateful. They tell me how happy they are that we’ve helped them buy a house so they can make a home for their family. Or how they now have clean water to drink, or how we’ve helped a business grow and create jobs, to making sure our rural neighbors have good health care, broadband and reliable electrical service.
It’s heartwarming to hear these stories how we have helped rural New Mexico grow and prosper. This is the true meaning of Thanksgiving.
Finally, I want to say one of the things I’m grateful for is the great work that our staff does. I want you to know rural New Mexico is blessed with thoughtful caring people who have made a career to serve you the public with the great work they do here at USDA Rural Development.
Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
