COLUMBUS, N.C., June 1, 2023 – Rural Development State Director Reginald Speight and the Housing Assistance Corporation celebrated the American Dream of homeownership when they cut a ribbon on four nearly completed homes in Columbus today.
Families who partnering with Rural Development to purchase home in this development will utilize the Single-Family Housing Direct Home Loan program.
Also known as the Section 502 Direct Loan Program, this program assists low-and very-low-income applicants obtain decent, safe and sanitary housing in eligible rural areas by providing payment assistance to increase an applicant’s repayment ability.
“Everyone person, regardless of their income, should have a place to call home,” said Speight. “Rural Development’s partnership with the Housing Assistance Corporation is helping make the dream of homeownership a reality for these residents.”
Speight and members of his Rural Development Team are participating in events celebrating National Homeownership Month across the state in June.
