Ora Rollins
Acting State Director for Virginia
Ora Rollins began her federal career in 1991 as a Single Family Housing technician in the Farmers Home Administration's Bowling Green County Office. She moved to the Multifamily Housing Program in 1997, working her way up the career ladder to serve as the Virginia program director when USDA Rural Development was established in 2006.
Rollins supervised a staff of 14 in the state before her selection as the Team 3 Lead for the Northeast Region when the agency reorganized in 2020. Then, the Caroline County native returned to the state in November of 2022 to become the Deputy State Director.
Rollins resides in Chester, Virginia, and enjoys cooking, watching football and basketball, and spending time with her family in her off hours. She is also a big believer in mentoring the next generation, readily sharing the story of her 30-plus year career to show other women what’s possible and to encourage them to pursue their own career goals.
