USDA Invests in the Expansion of Rural Education and Health Care Access

Distance Learning and Telemedicine Investments will benefit 5.4 Million Rural Residents in 37 States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands

   WASHINGTON, Nov. 20, 2019 – U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Deputy Under Secretary for Rural Development Donald “DJ” LaVoy today announced that USDA is investing $42.5 million in 133 distance learning and telemedicine projects in 37 states and two U.S. territories. USDA is providing the funding through the Distance Learning and Telemedicine (DLT) grant program. These investments will benefit 5.4 million rural residents.

USDA Invests in Drinking Water Quality and Wastewater Management for 784,000 Rural Residents and Businesses in 42 States including South Carolina

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Deputy Under Secretary for Rural Development Donald “DJ” LaVoy today announced that the department is investing $635 million in 122 projects to improve water systems and wastewater handling services in rural communities in 42 states. USDA is funding the projects through the Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant program.

USDA Invests $7.4 Million to Help Rural Oregon Businesses and Ag Producers Reduce Energy Costs

PORTLAND, Ore., Dec. 13, 2019 —  The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development is investing $7.4 million to help Oregon farmers, ranchers, and rural businesses lower their energy costs, announced State Directory John Huffman today. The funding is being provided through the Rural Energy for America Program.
