Acting State Director for Indiana
Curtis Johnson is the Acting State Director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development in Indiana. Position held most recently is Associate Enterprise Director for USDA Rural Development, providing administrative and operational leadership in support of the Agency’s mission to improve the economy and quality of life in rural America. In 19 years with Rural Development, he has been recognized on nine separate occasions for his efforts in making home ownership affordable, developing critical community infrastructure and advancing the use of renewable energy. Johnson is a lifelong Hoosier who attended Ball State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and later a Master of Science in Information and Communication Science. He lives in Pendleton, Indiana with his wife Jennifer and has one son, two daughters, two granddaughters and another granddaughter on the way.
